Immanuel supports outreach to Spanish-speaking people in our community and is blessed by our fellowship with Gloria Dei Hispanic Mission.

For over twenty-three years, Gloria Dei has been proclaiming the good news of salvation in Christ alone to Spanish-speaking people in Valparaiso, obedient to the command of Jesus to make disciples of all nations by baptizing them and teaching them.

Worship services in Spanish are held in the All Saints Chapel of Immanuel Lutheran at 11 am.  From time to time Gloria Dei participates in bilingual worship services with Immanuel and other Lutheran congregations in Northwest Indiana.

Sunday school is offered for children, and on Friday nights the adults meet for Spanish Bible study and fellowship.

Gloria Dei maintains a visible presence in the community and seeks to promote cross-cultural appreciation and friendship.  The children’s folkloric dance troupe learns traditional dance and takes pride in sharing their Hispanic heritage with the community.  Dressed in brightly colored costumes, the children delight the audience with their performances during the annual Cinco de Mayo dinner at Immanuel.  On Good Friday, Gloria Dei leas Valparaiso Lutheran congregations in the Via Crucis (Way of the Cross), a reenactment of Jesus’ passion that takes participants on a procession through downtown Valparaiso to Valparaiso University’s Chapel of the Resurrection.

Immanuel also participates in the work of the Northwest Indiana Lutheran Hispanic Mission Society.  Founded in 2007, the Society brings together area Lutheran congregations and individuals to reach out to Spanish-speaking people in the Northwest Indiana region.

Gloria Dei and the Northwest Indiana Lutheran Hispanic Mission Society are led by Pastor Tomas Angon and his associate, Pastor Juan Garcia.

We're glad you're here!

At Immanuel, we believe that you can be transformed by experiencing life with God in Christ. Our mission is to equip people for this kind of transformation by connecting people with Christ in a life of worship, learning, and service, whether you are exploring Christianity for the first time or grew up attending church.
